Grant Africa is a groundbreaking initiative in collaboration with the University of Oxford.
This innovative project will select and train 25 young African medical researchers, cardiologists, nephrologists, and public health specialists over the course of one year, providing them with the guidance and skills needed to secure essential funding for their research.
This annual training program is a significant step forward in empowering the next generation of African medical professionals.
T he need for this training stems from the urgent necessity to improve surveillance systems to support the response to current and future health risks, including climate change. Furthermore, it is crucial to promote evidence-based health in all sectoral policies and strengthen health systems to ensure quality healthcare for all.
By training these young researchers, we will be better prepared to combat non-communicable diseases, accelerate the reduction of maternal, neonatal, and child mortality, and eliminate high impact communicable diseases.
